What is the difference between Show and Demonstrate?

Show as a verb is to display, to have somebody see something. while Demonstrate as a verb is to display the method of using an object.

Example sentence: We admire elephants in part because they demonstrate what we consider the finest human traits: empathy, self-awareness, and social intelligence. But the way we treat them puts on display the very worst of human behavior.
