What is the difference between Dropping and Descending?

Dropping as a verb is to fall in droplets (of a liquid). while Descending as a verb is to pass from a higher to a lower place; to move downwards; to come or go down in any way, for example by falling, flowing, walking, climbing etc.

Descending

Example sentence: I explained I wanted to descend as quickly as possible to camp IV in order to warm myself and gather a supply of hot drink and oxygen in the event I might need to go back up the mountain to assist descending climbers.
