Definition: A place or building, consisting of a stage and seating, in which an audience gathers to watch plays, musical performances, public ceremonies etc. A region where a particular action takes place; a specific field of action, usually with reference to war. A lecture theatre. An operating theatre or locale for human experimentation. A cinema, or picture theatre. Drama or performance as a profession or artform.
Example sentence: Writing, of course, is writing, acting comes from the theater, and cinematography comes from photography. Editing is unique to film. You can see something from different points of view almost simultaneously, and it creates a new experience.
