What is the difference between Infer and Guess?

Infer as a verb is to surmise or reason from circumstance. while Guess as a verb is to reach a partly (or totally) unqualified conclusion.

Infer

Definition: To surmise or reason from circumstance. To conclude by reasoning or deduction, as from premises or evidence. To draw a conclusion (by reasoning). To imply: to have as a necessary consequence.

Example sentence: When you're choosing furniture for your home that's supposed to express who you are, what you are also saying is you want other people to infer what you want them to infer. What if they see something different? Wouldn't it be really depressing if you're trying to be bohemian and instead they see you as Rush Limbaugh?

Guess

Definition: A prediction about the outcome of something, typically made without factual evidence or support.

Part of speech: verb

Definition: To reach a partly (or totally) unqualified conclusion.To solve by a correct conjecture; to conjecture rightly.(mainly US) to suppose (introducing a proposition of uncertain plausibility).

Example sentence: I guess maybe there is two sides of me - the nice guy and then the beast within.
