Difference between External and Outer

What is the difference between External and Outer?

External as an adjective is outside of something while Outer as an adjective is outside; external.

External

Definition: outside of something

Example sentence: Punk is musical freedom. It's saying, doing and playing what you want. In Webster's terms, 'nirvana' means freedom from pain, suffering and the external world, and that's pretty close to my definition of Punk Rock.

Outer

Part of speech: adjective

Definition: Outside; external.Farther from the centre of the inside.

Part of speech: noun

Definition: An outer part.(wholesale trade) the smallest single unit normally sold to retailers, usually equal to one retail display box.Someone who admits to something publicly.Someone who outs another.

Example sentence: It requires greater courage to preserve inner freedom, to move on in one's inward journey into new realms, than to stand defiantly for outer freedom. It is often easier to play the martyr, as it is to be rash in battle.
